Lead with home care experience
Put private-home or domestic cleaning experience near the top, followed by laundry, bed making, and any cooking or household tasks you have actually done. Give a sense of the setting, such as the number of rooms or homes, while protecting the household’s privacy. Add a relevant certificate if you have one.
Describe careful cleaning
Name the tasks and materials you have handled, such as cleaning kitchens, caring for wood or stone surfaces, or following garment care labels. Explain how you followed product instructions or household preferences. Do not claim specialist care for antiques, silver, or other valuables unless you have done that work.
Use practical results
Include modest details that help an employer picture your work: homes or rooms cleaned per visit, laundry completed each week, or supplies checked before they ran out. Use counts only when you can explain them. If you do not track numbers, describe the routine you completed and how you kept to agreed visit times.
Include informal work clearly
Regular paid or unpaid cleaning for families can count as relevant experience. Label it honestly, such as “Household cleaner (private clients),” and use approximate years if you do not know exact dates. For short placements, list the dates and main duties; leave out household names and personal details.
