Resume tips

Use standard headings

Tracking systems look for common section names such as Summary, Experience, Education and Skills. Unusual headings can hide your experience from them.

Show results, not duties

For each role, say what changed because of your work, with a number where you can: time saved, revenue, error rate, team size.

Match the job advert

Use the job advert's own words for the skills and tools you really have. Each role page lists keywords that are common in its field.

Keep it focused

One page is usually enough for early and mid-career roles; two pages suit long careers. Cut anything that does not support the job you are applying for.
